Sherwood ist nun schon lange im Tauchgeschäft. 1923 wurde die Sherwood Valve Company aus Buffalo von der Aluminum and Brass Company of Lockport aus New York übernommen und begann kurz danach Ventile für Hochdruck-Gasbehälter zu produzieren. Selpac (bekannt für Finimeter) produzierte auch Ventile und Atemregler für andere Hersteller und wurde 1963 von Sherwood übernommen. Sherwood kaufte 1959 das Patent für kolbengesteuerte Atemregler für ein Butterbrot vom Erfinder. Es wird erzählt, dass er als Gegenleistung forderte, einmal im Jahr zum Essen ausgeführt zu werden... Sherwood produzierte Ventile und kolbengesteuerte Regler für viele andere Hersteller und Marken, bevor sie in den 1974 unter eigenem Namen verkauften. Leider gibt Sherwood keine Informationen, für wen die alles Regler bauten.

Sherwood is now long in business. 1923 Sherwood Valve Company of Buffalo was bought by Aluminium and Brass Company of Lockport, New York. Soon after that they started producing valves for high pressure gas cylinders. They merged with Selpac (known for gauges) who produced valves and regs for other companies too in 1963.. Sherwood was the patent holder for piston regs as they bought the patent in 1959 for nearly nothing at the beginning. Produced the piston regs for many other regulator brands and manufacturers before they started their own brand in 1974. Unfortunately they don´t give any information for which manufacturer they made regs..
